In June of 1872, the first ever Sängerfest in Nebraska was hosted by the Liederkranz here in Grand Island. The Omaha Concordia Singing Society was present with 50 members. The Omaha Brass Band was also present, the first brass band ever to appear on the streets of Grand Island.

In June of 1889, the Grand Island Liederkranz hosted the Second Sängerfest of the Nebraska Sängerbund at the Bartenbach Operahouse. Performers included baritone and soprano soloists from the New York Opera Company.

In August of 1896, the Grand Island Liederkranz hosted the 4th Sängerfest of the Nebraska Sängerbund. The front of the hall was decorated to resemble a German castle.

In 1898, Grand Island Liederkranz choirs participated in the 5th Sängerfest of the Nebraska Sängerbund held in Omaha, Nebraska.

By 1900, the Grand Island Liederkranz was the headquarters of the Nebraska Sängerbund, an association of German ? American Choirs.

In 1907, we hosted the 9th Sängerfest of the Nebraska Sängerbund here in Grand Island

In August 1909, we attended the 10th Sängerfest of the Nebraska Sängerbund in Hastings. The contingent from the Grand Island Liederkranz arrives by a special train.

In July 1910, we attended the 24th Sängerfest of the Northwestern Sängerbund in Omaha.

In August 1911, we hosted the 11th Sängerfest of the Nebraska Sängerbund here in Grand Island.

In July 1912, we attended the 25th Sängerfest of the Northwestern Sängerbund in St, Paul, MN.

In July 1915, we attended the 26th Sängerfest of the Northwestern Sängerbund in Omaha.

In August, 1916, we hosted the 13th Sängerfest of the Nebraska Sängerbund here in Grand Island.

In June, 1917, we attended the 27th Sängerfest of the Northwestern Sängerbund in Kansas City MO.

In 1924, we attended the 35th Sängerfest of the North American Sängerbund in Chicago. This was attended by 3870 singers from 151 choirs.

In June of 1926 we attended the Sixtieth Anniversary of the Saengerfest of the Northwest in Peoria , Illinois.

In June of 1928, we attended the 28th Saengerfest of the Northwest in Milwaukee.

In June of 1932 we attended the 29th Sängerfest of the Northwestern Sängerbund in St. Paul, Minn.

In June of 1934, we attended the Midwest District Sängerfest in Omaha.

One of the last known performances of the original Liederkranz Saenger was on April 30, 1940 at the 56th Stiftungsfest (founders day) Concert and Ball for the Plattdutschen Vereen.

The Liederkranz Singers now some 20 strong and in their eighth year, continue to carry on the Club?s tradition and promote the German Heritage and traditional German songs.
