From the Omaha World-Herald, dated April 3, 1916:

Grand Island Liederkranz to Let Bryan Use Hall

Grand Island, Neb., April 2 - Not only did the proposed protest by a few members against the rental of the Liederkranz auditorium for W.J. Bryan’s prohibition address of next Wednesday evening not avail, but a resolution endorsing the action of the officers was adopted. The resolution declared that the policy of the past permitting all reputable organizations and propagandists the use of the large auditorium shall be continued and the adoption was by an overwhelming vote. Mr. Bryan will therefore not be barred from this hall and will be shown every courtesy.
